Lake Garda's culture and territory

By choosing a holiday in the Glamping Resort and Camping Boutique of Vacanze col Cuore you can discover some of the most fascinating areas of Lower Garda, such as Moniga del Garda, Manerba del Garda and San Felice del Benaco.

  • San Felice del Benaco, Portese and Cisano, are three small Italian villages that rise on the coast between Salò and Manerba del Garda, and still host farmhouses and historic farmsteads. The villages and beaches of the area are linked together by walking and cycle paths. In San Felice area rises the Isola del Garda, which for centuries has belonged to the Cavazza-Borghese family, and now hosts one of the most famous botanical gardens in Italy and Europe for the variety of species of shrubs and exotic plants. Originally a Longobard Monastery and then over the centuries transformed into a Villa with a neo-Gothic-Venetian style, the Isola del Garda is full of charm and mystery. The Cavazza family lives nowadays on the island and organizes guided tours, events and weddings, so that all tourists who choose their holiday on Lake Garda can enjoy that wonder.
  • A few kilometers away is the town of Salò, also known as the Italian Social Republic of Salò, a regime established during the Second World War. The fascinating location with the historical center which overlooks the homonymous gulf, offers lights, colors and a breathtaking view.
  • Gardone Riviera is another destination not far from San Felice del Benaco that is worth visiting. It hosts the Vittoriale degli Italiani, for years home of d'Annunzio Poet and now a museum and historical park. Gardone Riviera hosts even the Heller Garden, a botanical garden of tropical and exotic charm, which combines nature and art; in the park in fact works of art are exhibited all the visit long.
  • Sirmione, also called ‘Perla del Garda, is another ‘must-see’ destination. The town stands on a peninsula that extends towards the center of Lake Garda and whose historic center is one of the most fascinating of the entire lake: the Rocca Scaligera which gives access to the historic center through an old enchanting drawbridge, then the villa of Maria Callas, famous opera singer. The world-famous Terme di Sirmione for the beneficial properties of thermal water and now also a destination for relaxation; the Grotte di Catullo, an ancient Roman Villa, whose remains extend over the northernmost tip.
Tourists on Lake Garda do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a boat tour around the Sirmione peninsula and get the best shots for their holiday memories.
  • Moniga del Garda and Manerba del Garda, are also interesting destinations to be visited if you are on holiday on Lake Garda. In Moniga del Garda you can visit the homonymous Castle, which stands on a panoramic hill and is still inhabited today, where every year events related to the wine of Valtenesi are organized. Manerba del Garda is home to one of the largest protected natural parks on Lake Garda: the Natural Reserve of Rocca and Sasso. An open-air museum that tells the landscape, the nature and the history of a unique territory. The pearl of the Rocca di Manerba, unmistakable reference of the profile of Lake Garda, contains history and culture.
