Are you ready to experience the excitement of one of the most iconic sporting events in history?
From 4 to 26 May 2024, the 107th edition of the Giro d'Italia will take place, an ancient and glorious event that involves athletes from all over the world every year. The Giro d'Italia is a men's cycling race in stages that usually takes place in May. The first edition started in 1909 and, since then, this prestigious competition has established itself as one of the major European stage races, equal to the Tour de France and the Spanish Vuelta.
This year's edition will feature 22 teams, with a total of 176 riders. The big start will be in Piedmont while the epilogue will be in Rome. During the race, the athletes will face 21 stages that will cross almost the entire Italian territory, alternating flat stretches with exciting descents but also very challenging climbs. The event, with 3,321 kilometres and 42,900 metres of altitude variation, promises to be, as every year, really tough, intense and spectacular.
In addition to the men's event, this year also sees the Giro Women, the 35th edition of the Giro d'Italia for women. The first stage of this eagerly awaited competition will start on Sunday 7 July from the stadium of Brescia, and will end in the enchanting Piazza della Loggia in the city centre. The race, which will end on 14 July in L'Aquila, promises to be truly exciting, thanks to its eight stages distributed over 856 kilometres and almost 12,000 metres of altitude difference. Follow the Giro d'Italia with Vacanze col cuore
