Glamping is a style of luxury camping holiday, a real philosophy that blends comfort, design and nature.
You might be wondering... what does the word 'glamping' mean? The term comes from the combination of the words 'glamour' and 'camping', and indicates a new trend in luxury camping holidays in which the pleasure of contact with nature is complemented by the services typical of high-end hotels, such as swimming pools, jacuzzis, wellness trails, restaurants and children's entertainment. All the spaces of a glamping campsite are also designed to guarantee guests safety, privacy and freedom.

Rather, they are well-equipped and well-appointed structures, with private bathroom, shower, electricity, air conditioning, heating, kitchenette... but also panoramic terraces and even private Jacuzzis! At the origins of our dream
The founder of Vacanze col Cuore is «the father of glamping in Italy»
It was 1977 when the founder of Vacanze col Cuore, the Dutchman Loek van de Loo, arrived on Lake Garda to work in a campsite. He fell in love at first sight with Italy, but also with his wife Chicca, to whom he has been married for more than 40 years. Together with his family, he transformed the Weekend Camp Site in what is now the Weekend Glamping Resort. From there, the dream was born to spread an innovative holiday model in Italy, where the design of the accommodation, the beauty of the common areas and the attention to the customer made camping more like a 'horizontal hotel' in the open air. Over the years, the passion for the sector has been shared with the whole family, especially with sons Leonardo and Alessandro, not only in terms of know-how, but also in its more human and emotional side.In addition to 1977, the Italian/Dutch group has experienced two other very important dates:
- 2006: Loek van de Loo invents the neologism "Glamping", outlining a style of luxury camping characterised by contact, always respectful and sustainable, with nature;
- 2018: "Vacanze col cuore" is born, a project animated by a goal as ambitious as it is challenging: to give passion and love, offering guests a special and unforgettable open-air experience.
